Thursday, June 17, 2004 Let me be concise. I'm sick and tired, which basically means that when I'm not sick, I'm very tired. You've heard of things not going one's way, well, on my behalf, nothing comes my way, at all. There is absolutely nothing new. Not even an interesting topic of discussion which has been brought up in the news papers or whatever. So is this what Mr. R meant when he said that experiences are the fuel of imagination? When you don't experience anything new, your thoughts become constrained by the stagnancy of your environment. In which case, I should be expanding my mind by going out and doing things like borrowing books from the library so that when I'm at home, lying up all ill, I'll have something good to read. But I've already discussed how I am not one who can pick up ideas from fiction (first reason, it's plagiarism, if not in deed then in my thoughts, and second reason, it constricts one's scope of thoughts), and given my utter distaste for social interaction of any kind ... hm, no wonder I'm starved. Maybe I'd make a good lighthouse keeper or something, so that I can survey the landscape from some distant place. And I can pace the circular balcony when I'm lost for thoughts. posted by Charlotte | 4:41 pm (0) comments Wednesday, June 16, 2004 I am tired. Very tired. And I am ill. Very ill. And I have not written anything in a long time, not because I have no ideas, but because I am so addled most of the time with the mental condition that plagues me that I am unable to sit down and seriously write (nor, seriously think) about whatever it is I want to say. No, I haven't lost interest! I wouldn't dare, especially after building up expectations. But to sound like I was harping on it would only make those few people out there who actually care for my mental well-being more worried so let me just say that I am still in convalescence, so leave me be. And don't say a word. posted by Charlotte | 4:24 pm (0) comments Sunday, June 13, 2004 Two things. Firstly, I learn that I cannot shop for any clotheswear, because even in these busy sale-filled times I find myself browsing the racks and counters over and over again, unable to decide on anything. To illustrate about just how bad it is, I do not even know how to buy anything, and I had to glance at the cashier's counter to actually wait for someone to appear ... since it's a sale, you'd expect people to buy things often, but when you actually wait, and watch ... in order for me to realise that all you have to do is stride merrily up to the cashier's counter with good/s in hand, queue up, pay, and collect your stuff all neatly bagged. As if visiting Cold Storage over and over again hadn't taught me anything. And I got one blouse. One. Hooray for the Great Singapore Sale for actually inducing me to buy clothing. And I cannot navigate the children's section of any department store. A crazed kid diving and freewheeling about among the toys and the dresses happened to smack me in the knee as I was walking and I was sent spiralling straight into a clothes-rack, my shoulder colliding with the metal railing as I fell to my knees. As a rather surprised (and very irresponsible) mother and daughter stood behind staring at me, crumpled onto the floor, I carefully got to my feet and, giving them a glare of utter distaste, I strode off clutching my shoulder. Later, at night, I found a nasty slash across my shoulder, just where I had struck the railing. No wonder I hate kids. I loathe kids. I utterly despise and detest children. It is appalling that everyone we know was like that at some point in their lives. Second, I have mysteriously discovered a totally original copy of Final Fantasy Tactics on sale at the local console gaming (as opposed to PC gaming) store, at $59.90. I am very reluctant to buy it. Very, even though that means that I'll be able to return the copy of FFT I'm using now which is way over its due date, for any borrowed item. And it's not the price, because I want the Japanese version too, so that we can avoid all those ridiculous typos that make FFT not only the bloodiest (for a turn-based strategy game?) but the funniest game I've ever played. If you ever want to buy me a present or something, here's a very big hint for you. Or you could buy me a nice blouse. Because I can't shop for clothes. posted by Charlotte | 4:48 pm (0) comments Disclaimer : The Slayers and Filia Ul Copt and all images thereof are the property of Hajime Kanzaka and Rui Araizumi. I don't own any of them, although if I had a choice I would want Filia ... ~//n_n\\7 |
