Tell those Taiwanese extremists in Kaohsiung to ... to *expletive* whatever. I can't be bothered to waste more breath than necessary on such plebian offal. How did those peasants get the money to buy a Singapore flag, anyway? You don't see people going around burning American flags because the Americans say this kind of stuff all the time, do they? But America sells them missiles, and owns missiles, while Singapore has done nothing more than, oh say being one of the largest customers of their pirated goods. And Arabs seem to have a wild time finding and burning American flags, anyway. At least someone, no matter how mentally disabled, has heard of our little country and actually thinks what our leaders say is important ... something to smile cynically about.

Even then, I urge my fellow not necessarily very patriotic (read, 'I'm A Quitter, Mr. Lee!') but similarly offended countryfolk not to recklessly blame the place or its people in general, but by all means, feel free to heap all manner of vulgarities and obscenities and expletives and cursewords upon those filthy and ragged scoundrels who dared to lay hands on the symbol of our nation. Because they, and not the rest of their fellow people, are the ones who deserve such condemnation.

Hmm ... I seem to find reading the newspapers in bed a rather entertaining pasttime, largely because it's fairly informative and mellowing, and when it does rile me up I enjoy (in my usual masochistic fashion) hurling all manner of depradations at the offenders concerned, substantiated by reasonably well-thought out economic and social theory, of course. Maybe instead of discussing my own happenings, which are fairly non-existent since I tend to be bed-ridden, I should instead ramble and rave about the weird ways of the world. It sure sounds far more interesting than hearing me describe the multitudes of spider webs on my ceiling for the umpteenth time.

Some moron wrote into the forum page today. You know what? The twit riled me up so badly I am incredibly tempted to reply with something suitably acidic and scathing, because the imbecile doesn't deserve the slightest bit of sympathy in the world.

But I shall not deign to such a thing as soundly abusing some unworthy scoundrel in the public eye as much as would the judges of Singapore Idol. I'll just ramble on and on about the increasing communisation and the slipping into the welfare state just as increased liberalisation causes a collapse of social order leading to the inconveniencing, the misfortune and finally the shackling of the cornerstone of modern society and economics which is US! WE! The middle class! And we don't like it one bit!

Yeah, go on, laugh. So you're not one of the middle class. In which case, when we're finally consumed by the raging torrent of social libertarianism already sweeping the country, you'll just get that little bit richer (or poorer, more hopefully) and then YOU will be the middle class, and you will die like the rest of us. Cower in your slums and your mansions, you wretched plagues on humanity who will enslave economic efficiency and social stability to the whims of your minority classes (who have MUCH more buying power with the Singapore Government than every last one of us put together would have) ... one day the revolution of the middle class will sweep your privileges and your damned welfare state from the land.
Or we'll all die. But organising a revolution sounds much more interesting.

Cross my fingers. I've already been hoping to die all this while.

Anyway, maybe I'll hold back on all my usual blather to try to catch up with my story-writing. All this angst, anger and sound and fury certainly does much to expound one's views on everything under the sun to the world, but unless you are in full concurrence with Charlotte's usually intensely absurd views you'll find them too warped for human consumption. In which case, fiction has always been a convenient, entertaining and most importantly viable method of bringing across one's ideas, whatever their weirdness, to the world. I've got to concentrate, much rather than have each day slip me by with no more than the odd passing obsession ... which strangely tends to vanish each time I put pen to paper or, in this case, finger to keyboard.

I've also got a few more book reviews, or maybe, book commentaries which I want to put up, just to show that I haven't been spending my whole time slacking, staring at either animated or blank screens. I want to at least rattle on a bit about The Three Musketeers, because it's certainly worth the read for anyone able to sit through the lengthy novel, and I've got so many positives to say about it. And I was feeling a little dull, so I looked up The Time Machine by H.G. Wells on the library shelf again and read it once through, and though it isn't the first time I've read the book I might want to post some thoughts and arguments as well. I am currently reading Don Quixote ... advice for everyone who hasn't read Don Quixote ... read DON QUIXOTE! A sixteeth-century re-enaction of what would happen to an anachronistic anachronism like Charlotte if she really acted her own 'age' in her own time.
Though I'd never dedicate myself a thrall wholly in the captivity in the magnificence of some exotic Prince out there. Not that I can think of any even worthy of the honour.

I think it has something to do with my internet connection.

Who else do you know who switches dates and times of their site postings around to suit their pleasures? No wonder nobody wants to read anything that I write.

You : "I didn't come here to be insulted!"
Charlotte : "Oh, really? Where would you usually go, then?"
